Slim Dusty Centre
The majestic Slim Dusty centre building stands complete at the gateway of Slim’s hometown of Kempsey. The modern centre displays Slim and Joy’s vast collection of memorabilia from their 60yrs of touring around Australia. Slim Dusty took the culture of the Australian bush to ordinary people through his unique style of country music. He dreamt of a Centre where the memorabilia collected could be shown. With the exhibition now complete and the centre open to all Visitors, you are be able to partake in an interactive journey through the heart and soul of Australia. The Slim Dusty centre has already received many donations of memorabilia from country music fans and supporters. The centre also offers scholarships to assist young talented musical artists to obtain the best possible start to their country music careers.

The Kempsey area

The perfect destination for relaxing and unwinding. There are many beaches that are excellent for swimming and surfing. There are historic sites, National Parks and 4wd tracks to explore in the beautiful countryside. Fishing is excellent in many locations that are easily reached. Museums, art galleries, heritage trails, shopping and dining all can be found in the many villages of the Macleay.
Crescent Head – famous surfing beaches, excellent for swimming, bushwalking and camping in Hat Head National Park. Excellent fishing. Explore Goolawah Reserve, wander through the Crescent Head markets every 3rd Sunday.
South West Rocks – Fish Rock Cave is one of the best dive sites in Australia. Created by a fault in the island that is approximately 2klms off the coast from Smokey Cape this cave dive is outstanding. 125mts long and travelling through the centre of a small island surrounded by a large array of marine life this is one dive site not to be missed.
Trial Bay Gaol – Also located at South West Rocks is worth a visit. Explore the grounds of this historic site originally built to house low security prisoners in the 1880’s. Later it was closed in 1903 and then reopened again during WW1.

We also provide convenient accommodation for those visiting Brad Scott Horses For Sale. Plenty of space to park your horse float too.
